Reduced Phenalenyl in Catalytic Dehalogenative Deuteration and Hydrodehalogenation of Aryl Halides

Bhagat Singh et al.

Summary: This report presents a new method for hydrodehalogenation and dehalogenative deuteration of aryl/heteroaryl halides without the need for transition metals. The incorporation of deuterium into biologically active compounds was successfully achieved, and the mechanism was found to be based on single electron transfer through the combined approach of experimental and theoretical studies.

Stereodefined rhodium-catalysed 1,4-H/D delivery for modular syntheses and deuterium integration

Weiyi Wang et al.

Summary: Researchers have proposed a method to prepare 3-methyl-2(E)-enals or -enones from 2,3-allenols and organoboronic acids using a 1,4-H transfer, which is highly stereoselective and straightforward, accommodating various functional groups. This method can efficiently generate deuterated 2(E)-enals or -enones, providing a convenient pathway for the preparation of other deuterated compounds.

Binding and separation of CO2, SO2 and C2H2 in homo- and hetero-metallic metal-organic framework materials

Lydia Briggs et al.

Summary: This study reported the adsorption of C2H2, CO2 and SO2 in a new, ultra-stable Cr(iii)-based MOF, and investigated the effects of changing metal center on gas uptake by synthesizing a mixed metal MFM-300(Al0.67Cr0.33). In situ synchrotron techniques were used to reveal distinct binding environments and binding domains for these gases in the frameworks, confirming the materials' capability for gas separation. The incorporation of Al(iii) and Cr(iii) within the same framework allows tuning of the host-guest and guest-guest interactions in these functional porous materials.
