Nitrogen-doped Fe2O3/NiTe2 as an excellent bifunctional electrocatalyst for overall water splitting

A pyrolysis-free Ni/Fe bimetallic electrocatalyst for overall water splitting

This work developed bifunctional catalysts with single atom active sites through a pyrolysis-free route, enhancing catalytic performance and providing insights into the catalytic processes. The as-prepared catalyst showed efficient catalytic capability for electrochemical water splitting in both acidic and alkaline electrolytes, making it a promising model catalyst for mechanistic studies.

Synchronous synthesis of S-doped carbon nitride/nickel sulfide photocatalysts for efficient dye degradation and hydrogen evolution

Summary: In this work, a low-cost and high-efficiency photocatalyst was synthesized through one-pot hydrothermal method. The photocatalytic activities of the synthesized NiS-loaded S-doped carbon nitride photocatalysts were evaluated. The improved photocatalytic activity was attributed to the expanded light absorption and facilitated charge carrier separation or transportation under the synergistic effect of S doping and NiS loading.

Synergistic Tuning of CoO/CoP Heterojunction Nanowire Arrays as Efficient Bifunctional Catalysts for Alkaline Overall Water Splitting

The unique microstructure combining two-dimensional nanosheets with one-dimensional nanowires results in exposed active sites, shortened ion-diffusion pathways, and enhanced conductivity, significantly improving performance. These freestanding electrodes exhibit high current density and excellent durability for both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions. A significantly high current density was achieved at a low cell voltage, indicating the potential for practical applications in water splitting.

NiCoP-nanocubes-decorated CoSe2 nanowire arrays as high-performance electrocatalysts toward oxygen evolution reaction

Rapid fabrication of FexNi2_ xP4O12 and graphene hybrids as electrocatalyst for highly efficient oxygen evolution reaction

Summary: A novel microwave assistant strategy was reported to fabricate graphene supported FexNi2_xP4O12 (FexNi2_xP4O12/RGO) hybrids as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The optimized FexNi2_xP4O12/RGO achieved low overpotentials of 277, 340, and 380 mV to reach current densities of 100, 500, and 1000 mA cm_2, respectively, in alkaline solution. Moreover, the electrolytic cell assembled by FexNi2_xP4O12/RGO and Pt/C exhibited higher performance than the one assembled by IrO2 and Pt/C. The strategy presented in this work provides a new avenue for the fabrication of high-performance electrocatalysts.
