An experimental investigation of the fluid accessibility of preconditioned sulphide copper ores

Paulo Lopez et al.

Summary: Copper is crucial for transitioning to a low-carbon economy and energy-efficient technologies. This paper presents results from controlled blasting tests that show how stress-induced damage can increase fluid penetration depth in copper ore samples, potentially improving the efficiency of copper extraction.

Analysis of intra-particle liquid capillary spread mechanisms in high-temperature stope leaching using MRI

Zhenlin Xue et al.

Summary: This paper quantitatively analyzed the capillary rise behavior of liquid inside samples with different porosity using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It found that the rise height inside the sample is higher than the outside wetting line, and the liquid capillary rise height slightly increases with temperature while the wetting surface profile remains unchanged. In addition, the capillary rise rate significantly increases with porosity.
