(???????)Acrylates-based hydrophilic co-polymeric nanobeads as nanocarriers for imaging agents

Sara Cerra et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of synthetic parameters in determining the size, polydispersity, and surface properties of hydrophilic PNPs as nanocarriers for imaging agents. The formation, stability, swelling behavior, and structural features of the nanoparticles were evaluated using spectroscopic, non-spectroscopic, and chromatographic techniques. The cytotoxicity and uptake mechanism of the nanoparticles in human glioblastoma T98G cell line were also examined.

Study of the interaction mechanism between hydrophilic thiol capped gold nanoparticles and melamine in aqueous medium

Sara Cerra et al.

Summary: Efforts have been made to obtain colloidal-based systems capable of detecting melamine in food samples. This study reported the recognition of melamine in aqueous solution using gold nanoparticles, with melamine-induced aggregation of AuNPs as the sensing method successfully detecting melamine in the range of 2.5-500 ppm. The negatively charged AuNPs3MPS are potentially useful for determining melamine contents in aqueous solution.

Photoacoustics for listening to metal nanoparticle super-aggregates

Roberto Li Voti et al.

Summary: Photoacoustic signal detection has been used as a new strategy to determine the mesoscale self-assembly of metal nanoparticles, providing a well-defined morphological interpretation of nanoparticle-based super-aggregates. By listening to the acousto-thermal effect in a complex system, information on the aggregation phenomena can be obtained. The low-cost and rapid photoacoustic measurement is revealed to be an innovative method for characterizing the fundamental structure/property correlation of metal nanoparticle super-aggregates.
