General Class of Continuous Variable Entanglement Criteria

Martin Gaerttner et al.

Summary: We present a general class of entanglement criteria for continuous variable systems based on the Husimi Q distribution, which allows for optimization over a set of concave functions. Our criteria have clear advantages under typical experimental constraints and can detect entanglement states that are undetectable by commonly used criteria.

Accessing continuous-variable entanglement witnesses with multimode spin observables

Detecting Entanglement Structure in Continuous Many-Body Quantum Systems

Philipp Kunkel et al.

Summary: A prerequisite for understanding many-body quantum systems is to characterize them in terms of their entanglement structure. However, detecting entanglement in spatially extended many-body systems described by quantum fields remains a major challenge. In this study, a general scheme for certifying entanglement is developed and demonstrated by revealing entanglement between distinct subsystems of a spinor Bose-Einstein condensate. The detection of squeezing in Bogoliubov modes in a multimode setting showcases the potential for enhancing the capabilities of quantum simulations in studying entanglement in spatially extended many-body systems.

Relative entropic uncertainty relation for scalar quantum fields

Stefan Floerchinger et al.

Summary: The concept of entropic uncertainty is well-known for formulating uncertainty relations for continuous variable quantum systems with finitely many degrees of freedom. In this work, the introduction of functional relative entropy overcomes the difficulty of scaling bounds with the number of oscillator modes in quantum field theories. The first entropic uncertainty relation for a scalar quantum field theory is presented, and it is shown to imply the multidimensional Heisenberg uncertainty relation.

Functionals with extrema at reproducing kernels

Aleksei Kulikov

Summary: In this article, it is shown that certain monotone functionals on the Hardy spaces and convex functionals on the Bergman spaces achieve their maximum at the normalized reproducing kernels among the functions of norm 1, thus proving some important conjectures in the field.

Entropic entanglement criteria in phase space

Stefan Floerchinger et al.

Summary: This paper presents entropic inseparability criteria based on the Husimi Q distribution for the phase-space representation of quantum states. The criteria are experimentally accessible and have practical advantages compared to criteria involving marginal phase-space distributions. The study demonstrates the strength of using the Husimi Q distribution for entanglement detection by certifying entanglement in previously undetectable regions.

Experimentally Accessible Bounds on Distillable Entanglement from Entropic Uncertainty Relations

Bjarne Bergh et al.

Summary: Entanglement is a crucial resource for many quantum technologies and fundamental physics questions. This text discusses deriving measurable lower bounds on distillable entanglement using entropic uncertainty relations for bipartite systems, and showcases their application to physical models realizable in cold-atom experiments. The derived entanglement bounds rely on measurements in only two different bases and are generically applicable to any quantum simulation platform.

Wehrl entropy, entropic uncertainty relations, and entanglement

Stefan Floerchinger et al.

Summary: The Wehrl entropy is discussed in relation to entropic uncertainty relations and quantification of entanglement in continuous variables. It is shown that the Wehrl-Lieb inequality is closer to equality than the usual Bialynicki-Birula-Mycielski entropic uncertainty relation almost everywhere. Additionally, the Wehrl mutual information is demonstrated to be useful in obtaining a measurable perfect witness for pure state bipartite entanglement and providing a lower bound on the entanglement entropy.

Relative entropic uncertainty relation

Stefan Floerchinger et al.

Summary: Quantum uncertainty relations are formulated based on the relative entropy between distributions of measurement outcomes and reference distributions with maximum entropy. This type of entropic uncertainty relation can be applied to observables with either discrete or continuous spectra, and the sum of relative entropies is nontrivially bounded from above, as illustrated with examples.

Entanglement detection in quantum many-body systems using entropic uncertainty relations

Bjarne Bergh et al.

Summary: We study experimentally accessible lower bounds on entanglement measures based on entropic uncertainty relations, propose an improved entanglement bound for bipartite systems, and demonstrate its application in quantum simulation experiments with cold atoms. Investigating the tightness of the derived entanglement bound reveals a strongly restricted set of pure states. In addition, we show that the relation can also be used for entanglement detection using generalized measurements.
