Diagnosis of Marginal Infiltration in Soft Tissue Sarcoma by Radiomics Approach Using T2-Weighted Dixon Sequence

Seungeun Lee et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the diagnostic performance of a radiomics model using T2-weighted Dixon sequence for predicting the infiltration degree of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) margin. The LR and LSR models constructed with T2 or VST2 features showed higher accuracy and concordance rate compared to radiologists' analysis.

Radiomics in breast cancer classification and prediction

Allegra Conti et al.

Summary: Breast cancer diagnosis and screening are usually done through imaging techniques such as mammography, MRI, and ultrasound. Among these, MRI has higher sensitivity and specificity compared to mammography and ultrasound. Radiomics, as a computational approach, has been increasingly used to improve the sensitivity and specificity of BC diagnosis.

Tumour budding in solid cancers

Alessandro Lugli et al.

Summary: Tumour budding serves as an emerging prognostic biomarker in colorectal cancer and other solid cancers, with its predictive accuracy being widely supported by evidence. The standardized scoring system agreed upon at the International Tumour Budding Consensus Conference allows for an independent prediction of pathological features and unfavorable survival outcomes in patients.

Adjuvant abemaciclib combined with endocrine therapy for high-risk early breast cancer: updated efficacy and Ki-67 analysis from the monarchE study

N. Harbeck et al.

Summary: Adjuvant abemaciclib combined with endocrine therapy significantly improved invasive disease-free survival in patients with early breast cancer, with an acceptable safety profile. Ki-67 index was prognostic but did not affect the benefits of abemaciclib. The robust treatment benefit of abemaciclib extended beyond the planned 2-year treatment period.

Absolute quantification of tumor-infiltrating immune cells in high-grade glioma identifies prognostic and radiomics values

Summary: Quantifying tumor-infiltrating immune cells helps understand the heterogeneity of the immune microenvironment in HGG, which has prognostic implications. Radiomic signatures can predict this immune microenvironment non-invasively.

Multi-scale and multi-parametric radiomics of gadoxetate disodium-enhanced MRI predicts microvascular invasion and outcome in patients with solitary hepatocellular carcinoma ≤ 5 cm

Huan-Huan Chong et al.

Summary: The study successfully developed radiomics-based nomograms for predicting preoperative microvascular invasion and recurrence-free survival in patients with solitary hepatocellular carcinoma <= 5 cm. Radiomics values, peritumoral enhancement, and absent capsule enhancement were identified as independent risk factors for MVI, while age, histologic MVI, alkaline phosphatase, and alanine aminotransferase were independent predictors for recurrence. The nomograms showed high accuracy in predicting MVI and stratifying RFS.

Chunli Li et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the use of intratumoral and peritumoral regions from functional parametric maps on breast dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI for predicting HER-2 and Ki-67 status. The radiomic features from these regions showed potential in identifying the gene status with good agreement and no significant differences in prediction performance.

Tertiary Lymphoid Structures in Cancer: The Double-Edged Sword Role in Antitumor Immunity and Potential Therapeutic Induction Strategies

Wendi Kang et al.

Summary: TLSs play a vital role in the tumor microenvironment and are closely associated with favorable clinical outcomes in most types of cancers, though there are some studies reporting an association with a poor prognosis. Further investigation into their double-edged sword role and potential mechanisms is needed to provide novel therapeutic perspectives for antitumor immunoregulation.
