Preparation, characterization, and physicochemical property of the inclusion complexes of Cannabisin A with ,B-cyclodextrin and hydroxypropyl- ,B-cyclodextrin

Peng-Wei Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, β-cyclodextrin and HP-β-cyclodextrin were used to encapsulate Cannabisin A, improving its water solubility. The inclusion complexes of Cannabisin A with β-cyclodextrin and HP-β-cyclodextrin were prepared and their structures were analyzed. The solubility and antioxidant activity of Cannabisin A were significantly enhanced after complexation. The study concluded that the Cannabisin A/HP-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex was preferred due to its better physicochemical properties.

Activating the delivery of a model drug to lipid membrane by encapsulation of cyclodextrin: Combined experimental and molecular docking studies

Mohd. Afzal et al.

Summary: Drug delivery science is an important field of study that focuses on delivering therapeutic drugs to target cells while minimizing toxicity to healthy tissues. This project specifically investigates the targeted delivery of a polarity-sensitive solvatochromic model drug called ANSA to a model bio-membrane. The drug delivery is facilitated through the binding of ANSA with cyclodextrin as a drug transporter. Through detailed spectroscopic studies, it is found that the dye ANSA can be successfully delivered to the lipid-water interface region of lipid bilayers through encapsulation within cyclodextrin.

In silico and in vitro study of epiisopiloturine/hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes obtained by different methods

Cybelly Marques De Melo et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that Epiisopiloturine (EPI) complexed with cyclodextrins, such as hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HP-beta-CD), can increase its solubility significantly, providing a potential alternative for drug delivery systems. Molecular modeling demonstrated the stability of the EPI:HP-beta-CD complex, which could potentially enhance the dissolution rate of EPI and lead to the development of a new pharmaceutical dosage form.
