Optimal Network Charge for Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading: A Grid Perspective

Yu Yang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the integration of P2P energy trading into existing power systems and proposes a network charge mechanism to address transmission loss and network constraints. A Stackelberg game model is used to determine the equilibrium network charge price, and a method for obtaining this price efficiently is proposed. Simulation results on IEEE bus systems demonstrate that the network charge mechanism is beneficial for grid operators and prosumers, achieving near-optimal social welfare. Additionally, the presence of energy storage affects prosumers' sensitivity to network charge price changes and has an impact on the P2P market.

P2P Multigrade Energy Trading for Heterogeneous Distributed Energy Resources and Flexible Demand

Jiayong Li et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel peer-to-peer multi-grade energy trading design that encourages flexible demand side participation in order to absorb the uncertainty of renewable distributed energy resources (DERs) in distribution networks. The authors develop a reliability credit assignment method to differentiate energy grades based on DER reliability and customer preferences. They introduce an innovative P2P multi-grade energy trading model that matches different types of demand with corresponding energy grades. The market clearing is formulated as a social welfare maximization problem, considering customer utilities and DER producer profits. The authors also develop a fast decentralized pricing algorithm that achieves maximum social welfare while preserving privacy.

Distributed scheduling of HVACs based on transactive energy and ADMM

Meng Song et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the optimal scheduling of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVACs) to address the fluctuation problems caused by the increasing renewable energy integration with power systems. A two-stage framework is proposed to schedule HVACs, where a federated power plant (FPP) is employed to regulate HVACs in the first stage and a transactive energy (TE) market is built within FPP to schedule HVACs in the second stage. The alternating direction method of multiplier (ADMM) method is utilized to control HVACs in a distributed way for better-optimized scheduling. Case studies show that the proposed distributed methodology can schedule HVACs in a private, effective and accurate way.
