Trade-linked shipping CO2 emissions

Xiao-Tong Wang et al.

Summary: Global international maritime trade has a significant impact on shipping emissions, with potential unfairness, but there is a large emission reduction potential through optimizing international trade patterns. Establishing a more systematic solution and joint efforts from the shipping industry and global trade network can effectively address climate change.

Long-range transport of ozone across the eastern China seas: A case study in coastal cities in southeastern China

Yanhua Zheng et al.

Summary: This study investigates an ozone pollution episode in 6 cities of southeastern coastal area of China in autumn 2017, finding that ozone pollution was mainly caused by ozone transport from the Eastern China Seas. Ozone precursors emitted from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Northeast China, and Japan-Korea were transported to the Eastern China Seas and generated ozone through photochemical reactions, affecting the southeastern coastal area after long-range transport.

Ship emissions around China under gradually promoted control policies from 2016 to 2019

Xiaotong Wang et al.

Summary: The study utilized an updated Ship Emission Inventory Model to analyze ship emissions around China from 2016 to 2019, revealing reductions in SO2 and PM emissions but an increase in NOx emissions. Despite the implementation of the DECA 1.0 policy, significant emission reductions were only achieved after the introduction of DECA 2.0.
