Spotlighting the boosted energy storage capacity of CoFe2O4/Graphene nanoribbons: A promising positive electrode material for high-energy-density asymmetric supercapacitor

Changlei Xia et al.

Summary: CoFe2O4/Graphene Nanoribbons (GNRs) nanocomposite was successfully prepared and used as an electrode material for high-energy supercapacitor cells. The nanocomposite exhibited excellent specific capacitance and cycle stability, making it a promising candidate for energy storage systems. Furthermore, an asymmetric supercapacitor cell (ASC) was designed using CoFe2O4/GNRs and activated carbon (AC), which showed improved specific capacitance and high power density.

Pseudocapacitive behaviors of strontium-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles for supercapacitor applications

B. Jeevanantham et al.

Summary: In this study, strontium-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol-gel combustion technique and annealed at different temperatures. The materials were characterized using XRD to determine their phase and crystallinity, with average crystallite sizes of 33, 36, and 35 nm at temperatures of 200°C, 300°C, and 500°C respectively. FESEM analysis revealed a clustered and homogeneous structure of the samples. UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectroscopy was used to calculate the direct bandgap energy values, which were found to be 1.24, 1.21, and 1.20 eV. Galvanostatic measurements showed that the observed sample (Co0.8Sr0.2Fe2O4 at 300°C) exhibited a supercapacitance value of 637 Fg-1 at 0.5 Ag-1 and retained 85.5% after 1000 cycles at 5 Ag-1, demonstrating 98.79% coulombic efficiency after 5000 cycles at 15 Ag-1. These results suggest that doped nanoferrites hold promise as electrode materials for supercapacitor applications.

Mamoona Anwar et al.

Summary: This study fabricates copper and holmium co-doped cobalt ferrite with cross-linked graphene (CH-CoF/CLG) as an electrode material for supercapacitors. The electrochemical performance of CH-CoF/CLG, CoF, and CH-CoF was evaluated. CH-CoF/CLG showed higher specific capacitance, longer discharge time, and lower resistance compared to CoF and CH-CoF. Additionally, CH-CoF/CLG exhibited excellent cyclic stability with no significant loss in performance after 3000 cycles.

Effects of Rhenium Substitution of Co and Fe in Spinel CoFe2O4 Ferrite Nanomaterials

Yuruo Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, nanoparticles of Co1-xRexFe2O4 and CoFe2-xRexO4 (0 <= x <= 0.05) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. The substitution of Re led to slightly increased lattice parameters and shift in Raman spectra peak positions. The surface Re exchange changed the coordination environment of metals and induced Fe-site structure distortion. The magnetic measurements showed that all samples exhibited ferromagnetic behavior across the entire temperature range.
