Transforming the electronic properties of phosphorene through charge transfer superatomic doping

Ryan Lambert et al.

Summary: The band gap energy and the nature of carriers in phosphorene can be controlled by changing the dimensionality or through charge transfer doping with metal-chalcogenide superatoms. The width of the nanoribbons can change the band gap energy, while ligand exchange with metal-chalcogenide superatom clusters can control the carrier type. These findings provide a novel approach to controlling carrier type and band gap in phosphorene.

Acetophenone and benzophenone adsorption studies on ?-phosphorene nanosheets- A DFT investigation

V. Nagarajan et al.

Summary: In this study, we used 0-phosphorene nanosheets as superior sensing elements to detect acetophenone and benzophenone at room temperature. The structural firmness and dynamical stability of 0-phosphorene were confirmed, and the electronic properties were explored. The adsorption features of the target volatiles on the base substrate were also studied. The results suggest that 0-phosphorene can be utilized as an excellent chemical sensor for detecting acetophenone and benzophenone.
