Neurologic outcome of VZV encephalitis one year after ICU admission: a multicenter cohort study

Summary: This study described the clinical features of VZV encephalitis in ICU and identified factors associated with a favorable neurologic outcome. Approximately one-third of critically ill patients with VZV encephalitis had a favorable neurologic outcome after 1 year, while older age and invasive mechanical ventilation were linked to a higher risk of disability and death.
