Near-Infrared Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging of Biomolecules with Carbon Nanotubes

Linda Sistemich et al.

Summary: Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are versatile building blocks for biosensors that can respond to analytes by a change in fluorescence. However, intensity-based signals are easily affected by external factors. In this study, we demonstrate the use of fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) to overcome this issue and utilize SWCNT-based sensors for detecting dopamine.

Graphdiyne Quantum Dots for H2O2 and Dopamine Detection

Syed Rahin Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study presents a hydrothermal synthesis method for fluorescent graphdiyne quantum dots (GDY QDs) from graphdiyne sheets and reports, for the first time, the nanozymatic activity of GDY QDs. The GDY QDs catalyze the oxidation of H2O2 through peroxidase biomimetic nature and enable detection of H2O2 and dopamine. The findings of this study have important implications for the development of carbon-based nanocrystals with enzyme-mimicking nature for analytical approaches, particularly colorimetric nanobiosensors.
