An overview of HPDLC films and their applications

Katariya-Jain Anuja et al.

Summary: The fusion of holography with LC-polymer composites leads to holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal (HPDLC) technology, with high monomer unit concentration and alternate bright and dark fringes in the composite film. This review article discusses the underlying principles, electro-optical parameters, classification of HPDLC gratings, recent advances, as well as various evolved morphologies and trending applications of HPDLC films.
