The pursuit of innovative electrode materials for emerging energy storage devices is a prevalent research area in recent times. A facile hydrothermal strategy was utilized to synthesize sea urchin shaped cobalt carbonate hydroxide hydrate (CCHH)/polyaniline nanocomposite for electrochemical energy storage. The study thoroughly analyzed how polyaniline affected the structure and charge storage performance of CCHH. Due to hierarchical sea urchin-like morphology and optimized polyaniline concentration, the CCHH/(PANI-20 mg) nanocomposite provided exceptional charge storage capabilities, with a specific capacitance of 1308.4 F/g at 1 A/g. Moreover, an asymmetric supercapacitor based on CCHH/(PANI-20 mg) exhibited an energy density of 35.1 Wh/kg at 548.24 W/kg power density and outstanding cycling stability of 97.2 % after 5000 charge/discharge cycles at 17.5 mA. These results demonstrate significant potential for CCHH/PANI based nanocomposites for supercapacitors.
