Summary: Pharmaceutical pollution is a growing concern for the environment and public health. Despite the availability of pharmaceutical take-back schemes in many countries, improper disposal of household pharmaceutical waste remains a significant issue. This study investigates the effects of information availability and framing on individuals' intentions and behaviors to collect and return unused or expired household pharmaceuticals. The results show that delivering environmental health, loss framing information greatly increases the likelihood of returning household pharmaceutical waste.

Medications disposal and medications storage in Jordan: A cross-sectional study

Summary: The study found that over half of Jordanian individuals have unused or expired medications at home, which are commonly stored in the bedroom, kitchen, or store room. Pharmacists are the main source of information regarding medication storage for them. The three most common reasons for medication accumulation at home were changes or discontinuation by doctors, self-discontinuation due to improvement in symptoms, and forgetfulness.
