Tetraspanin 7 promotes osteosarcoma cell invasion and metastasis by inducing EMT and activating the FAK-Src-Ras-ERK1/2 signaling pathway

Shijie Shao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that Tspan7 promotes osteosarcoma (OS) metastasis by interacting with beta 1 integrin and activating the FAK-Src-Ras-ERK1/2 pathway. Tspan7 is highly expressed in primary OS tumors and cell lines, and downregulation of Tspan7 suppresses OS growth, metastasis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). This study provides a potential therapeutic strategy for OS.

Combination Effect of Cilengitide with Erlotinib on TGF-β1-Induced Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition in Human Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells

Jisu Jeong et al.

Summary: EMT plays a crucial role in the development of lung cancer, and targeting EMT could inhibit cancer cell invasion and metastasis. This study found that combination treatment with erlotinib and cilengitide showed enhanced inhibitory effects on EMT in lung cancer cells, suggesting that cilengitide could improve the efficacy of anticancer drugs and contribute to improved treatment strategies for inhibiting EMT-based cancer progression.

TGF-β1/SH2B3 axis regulates anoikis resistance and EMT of lung cancer cells by modulating JAK2/STAT3 and SHP2/Grb2 signaling pathways

Li-Na Wang et al.

Summary: SH2B3 inhibits the anoikis resistance and EMT of lung cancer cells by regulating the JAK2/STAT3 and SHP2/Grb2/PI3KIAKT signaling cascades, leading to decreased cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.

CD155/SRC complex promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression via inhibiting the p38 MAPK signalling pathway and correlates with poor prognosis

An-Li Jin et al.

Summary: CD155 is abnormally overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and promotes HCC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion through the SRC/p38 MAPK signaling pathway. It also affects the postoperative prognosis of HCC patients.

Exosome-derived miR-210 involved in resistance to osimertinib and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in EGFR mutant non-small cell lung cancer cells

Kakeru Hisakane et al.

Summary: Exosomal miR-210-3p plays a crucial role in resistance to osimertinib in EGFR-mutant NSCLC, by promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and inducing drug resistance. Further studies are needed to explore the potential of targeting miR-210-3p as a therapeutic strategy for overcoming osimertinib resistance in NSCLC.

Tumor-associated macrophages secret exosomal miR-155 and miR-196a-5p to promote metastasis of non-small-cell lung cancer

Xiang Li et al.

Summary: The study revealed that exosomal miR-155 and miR-196a-5p secreted by M2 TAMs promoted NSCLC metastasis by directly targeting RASSF4, offering a potential opportunity for diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC.

c-Src Increases the Sensitivity to TKIs in the EGFR-Mutant Lung Adenocarcinoma

Weili Min et al.

Summary: c-Src activation facilitates metastasis in lung adenocarcinoma through a specific mechanism; although c-Src is not involved in EGFR-related signaling, dasatinib can enhance the anti-tumor activity of TKIs; dasatinib-induced c-Src inactivation sensitizes EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma to TKIs.

Breast cancer exosomes contribute to pre-metastatic niche formation and promote bone metastasis of tumor cells

Xinxin Yuan et al.

Summary: Exosomes derived from breast cancer cells, particularly SCP28 cells, play a crucial role in promoting osteoclast differentiation and activation, contributing to the accelerated formation of a microenvironment favorable for bone metastasis. Specifically, the exosomal miR-21 from SCP28 cells regulates PDCD4 protein levels to facilitate osteoclastogenesis, indicating its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target for breast cancer bone metastasis.
