Summary: By studying the shared pathogenesis of foetal placenta and maternal decidua, it was discovered that the expression of 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-PGDH) and prostaglandin transporter (PGT) differed in the placenta and decidua, which can affect the transition of cells from epithelial to mesenchymal patterns. This finding may provide a new and alternative therapy for the treatment of preeclampsia.
