This study calculated the radiation shielding properties of a glass system with different silver contents, and the results showed the effect of silver content on the shielding properties of gamma rays.
Radiation is important for daily life and it is required to shielding. Thus in this study, the radiation shielding properties of 90(Se)-(10-x) (Te)-x(Ag) where x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 mol% glass system have been calculated. For this purposes the Linear absorption coefficient (LAC), half-value length (HVL), tenth-value layer (TVL), mean free path (mfp) have been computed using by the Phy-X/PSD program. In these results the effect of Ag rate is also obtained on the gamma ray shielding properties.
