A highly porous fiber coating based on a Zn-MOF/COF hybrid material for solid-phase microextraction of PAHs in soil

Summary: This study developed a novel adsorbent, Zn-MOF/COF, by combining Zn-based MOF and melamine-based COF. The resulting Zn-MOF/COF sorbent exhibited lower cost and higher extraction efficiency compared to commercial and homemade adsorbents. It was successfully employed for the extraction and enrichment of PAHs in contaminated soil samples.

Covalent organic framework@Ti3C2Tx composite as solid phase microextraction coating for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in honey samples

Summary: In this study, covalent organic framework@MXene composites were synthesized and used as solid phase microextraction coatings for the isolation of PAHs from honey samples. The developed composites exhibited excellent extraction capacity and analytical performance, as well as long lifetime and good reproducibility. This study provides an effective method for the analysis of trace PAHs in complex food samples.

Metal organic framework/covalent organic framework composite for solid-phase microextraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in milk samples

Summary: A novel MOF/COF composite was designed and prepared as a coating fiber for HS-SPME, utilizing the excellent physicochemical properties of metal organic framework (MOF) and covalent organic framework (COF). The composite was physically coated onto a stainless-steel wire for HS-SPME of PAHs. The established method showed excellent repeatability and reproducibility, with linear ranges of 0.2-50.0 ng mL-1, limits of detection and quantitation ranging from 0.02-0.07 ng mL-1 and 0.07-0.24 ng mL-1, respectively, and relative standard deviations (RSD) for PAHs all less than 7.05%.

A novel needle trap device containing an imine-based covalent organic framework for sampling of PAHs in soil

Summary: A new adsorbent based on covalent organic frameworks (COFs) was synthesized and used for the needle trap device (NTD) microextraction. The synthesized adsorbent was characterized using various techniques. The designed microextraction system coupled with GC-FID was used for the analysis of PAHs in contaminated soil samples. RSM with BBD was utilized to optimize the extraction process variables. Under optimal conditions, the method showed good linearity, low detection limit, and acceptable RSD values.

Development of aerogels in solid-phase extraction and microextraction

Summary: Sample pretreatment is a crucial step in analyzing and detecting trace targets, and aerogels have shown great potential as extraction materials in sample preparation. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the classification, development, and application of aerogels in solid-phase extraction and solid-phase microextraction from 2010 to 2021. Different types of aerogels, including silica, carbon, organic, organic-inorganic hybridized, and metal-oxide aerogels, have been introduced in these techniques. They have demonstrated excellent adsorption performance and the ability to capture various analytes in environmental, biological, and food samples. The challenges and future prospects for the use of aerogels in sample preparation are also discussed.

Poly(divinylbenzene) as a fiber coating for headspace solid-phase microextraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from river water

Computational Identification of Connected MOF@COF Materials

Fabrication of efficient Zn-MOF/COF catalyst for the Knoevenagel condensation reaction

The catalyst showed exceptional catalytic activity, high recyclability, and easy work-up process for the Knoevenagel condensation reaction.
