Rituximab Treatment in a Patient with Kimura Disease and Membranous Nephropathy: Case Report

Roald Vissing-Uhre et al.

Summary: Kimura disease is a chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by slowly developing subcutaneous swellings, often found in the head and neck region. This case report examines a patient with Kimura disease-associated membranous nephropathy, who showed overall remission and no nephrotic relapses after receiving treatment with intravenous rituximab. The findings suggest that intravenous rituximab can effectively decrease proteinuria and prevent nephrotic relapses in patients with treatment-refractory membranous nephropathy due to Kimura disease.
