Economic recession, parental unemployment and adolescents' health-related quality of life and mental health outcomes in Greece

Summary: This study finds that parental unemployment is associated with decreased health-related quality of life and increased adverse mental health symptoms for adolescents. The period of 2011-2013, characterized by increased parental unemployment, witnessed a decline in health-related quality of life and increased adverse mental health symptoms among adolescents. Furthermore, parental unemployment had a more detrimental impact on adolescents' health-related quality of life and mental health in the period of 2011-2013 compared to 2017-2019.

Parental unemployment and adolescents' academic performance

Summary: This study examines the association between parental unemployment and adolescents' grades. The findings suggest that parental unemployment is associated with a decline in adolescents' grades, especially during periods of economic decline. Additionally, the study finds that parental unemployment has a greater impact on adolescents' grades for households that are not homeowners and whose schools are located in working-class areas.

Additionally, applications aided by artificial intelligence play a role in enhancing health/mental health and integration levels among immigrants.
