Summary: This study found a high prevalence of dietary supplement use among US military service members, with multivitamins/multiminerals, combination products, and proteins/amino acids being the most commonly used types. Factors independently associated with dietary supplement use included female gender, older age, higher education level, higher BMI, more weekly resistance training, use of smokeless tobacco or higher alcohol intake, and higher military rank.
