Development of a novel combined nomogram model integrating deep learning-pathomics, radiomics and immunoscore to predict postoperative outcome of colorectal cancer lung metastasis patients

Renjie Wang et al.

Summary: Limited previous studies focused on the risk stratification of colorectal cancer (CRC) lung metastasis patients, and this study aimed to construct a nomogram model using machine learning-pathomics, radiomics features, Immunoscore, and clinical factors to predict the postoperative outcome of CRC patients with lung metastasis. The developed nomogram showed outstanding performance in predicting OS and DFS, indicating its potential clinical usefulness for colorectal lung metastasis patients.

Time to first recurrence, pattern of recurrence, and survival after recurrence in endometrial cancer according to the molecular classification

F. Siegenthaler et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the value of molecular classification in recurrent endometrial cancer, finding distinct recurrence patterns and survival rates among molecular subgroups. MMRd cases showed more locoregional recurrence and the best survival rates after recurrence, while p53abn patients experienced more abdominal recurrences and had the worst prognosis.

Endometrial cancer

Emma J. Crosbie et al.

Summary: Endometrial cancer is the most common gynaecological cancer in high income countries, with a global rise in incidence. Obesity is the major underlying cause, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Early presentation with postmenopausal bleeding ensures cure, but advanced cases have poor prognosis. Minimally invasive surgical staging and targeted chemotherapeutic strategies are important advances.

Summary: Every year, the American Cancer Society projects the numbers of new cancer cases and deaths in the United States, with the latest data showing a significant decline in lung cancer mortality, while prostate cancer mortality has plateaued and breast and colorectal cancer mortality have slowed. Improvements in treatment have accelerated progress against lung cancer, leading to a record drop in overall cancer mortality.

Semiquantitative evaluation of lymph-vascular space invasion in patients affected by endometrial cancer: Prognostic and clinical implications

Stefano Restaino et al.

Summary: Semiquantitative analysis of LVSI in endometrial cancer patients can serve as an important prognostic factor. Patients with diffuse LVSI have higher risks of lymph node metastasis and distant recurrence, but adjuvant radiation therapy can improve survival outcomes for these patients.

Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer, Part 1: National Cancer Statistics

Farhad Islami et al.

Summary: This study provides updated data on cancer incidence, mortality, and survival rates in the United States, finding that overall cancer incidence continues to increase in females, children, and adolescents, while overall death rates are declining, especially for lung cancer and melanoma. For several major cancer types, however, death rates are still increasing or declining at a slower pace.

Nomograms to predict outcomes after 177Lu-PSMA therapy in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: an international, multicentre, retrospective study

Andrei Gafita et al.

Summary: Nomograms developed in this study can predict outcomes after Lu-177-PSMA in patients with mCRPC. These predictive models can assist in guiding clinical trial design and individual clinical decision-making, especially in institutions where Lu-177-PSMA is introduced as a novel therapeutic option.
