Probing the structure of Copper(II)-Casiopeina type coordination complexes [Cu(O-O)(N-N)]+ by EPR and ENDOR spectroscopy

Andrea Folli et al.

Summary: This study investigates the structure and electronic properties of a series of Cu(II) Casiopeina-type complexes and their influence on the rhombicity and in-plane distortion of the complexes. The results demonstrate that ligand size plays a significant role in these properties.

Atomically Dispersed Copper Sites in a Metal-Organic Framework for Reduction of Nitrogen Dioxide

Yujie Ma et al.

Summary: Metal-organic framework materials provide an excellent platform for fabricating single-atom catalysts, and this study focuses on atomically dispersed copper sites in UiO-66 for catalytic reduction of NO2. Various characterization techniques confirm the atomic dispersion of copper sites and their significant role in the catalytic process, leading to superior catalytic performance without the need for reductants.

Statistical analysis of ENDOR spectra

Yvo Pokern et al.

Summary: Electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) is a powerful tool for spectroscopic investigations, measuring the hyperfine interaction of magnetic nuclei with paramagnetic centers across various fields from biophysics to material science. A statistical model was developed for ENDOR data analysis on a prototype amino acid radical in Escherichia coli ribonucleotide reductase, revealing new unexpected spectral contributions critical for biological function. The results show that model-based statistical analysis combined with state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques provides access to information beyond standard approaches.

Catalytic decomposition of NO2 over a copper-decorated metal-organic framework by non-thermal plasma

Shaojun Xu et al.

Summary: Efficient catalytic conversion of NO2 to non-harmful species using Cu-embedded metal-organic framework at room temperature is described in this study. The process achieves a high NO2 conversion rate and N-2 selectivity without the use of NH3 or other reducing agents.
