Csaba Foeldes

Summary: This article examines a type of German-speaking minority newspapers abroad that has been largely unexplored in media linguistics. By summarizing the study design, central structure, content elements, and previous observations and results of the current research project, the article provides an overview and initiates a discussion on the topic. Illustrated by three minority newspapers from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Hungary, the exploratory study reveals the distinguishing features of these newspapers, including the influence of language contact, eclectic and inconsistent texts, and the impact of content and culture on the overall picture.
