Highly sensitive detection of fluoride based on poly(3-aminophenylboronic acid)-reduced graphene oxide multilayer modified electrode

Shurong Wang et al.

Summary: A novel electrochemical method for detecting fluoride was developed using a gold electrode modified by layer-by-layer assembly of PAPBA-RGO multilayers. The method was based on evaluating the changes in peak current for potassium ferricyanide reduction caused by the conjunction of fluoride and boronic acid groups of PAPBA. The method showed high sensitivity and selectivity for fluoride detection.

State-of-art advances on removal, degradation and electrochemical monitoring of 4-aminophenol pollutants in real samples: A review

Hassan Karimi-Maleh et al.

Summary: p_Aminophenol, also known as 4-aminophenol (4-AP), is a chemical compound with hydroxyl and amino groups on the benzene ring. It is a suitable precursor for synthesizing oxazoles and oxazines. However, the toxicity of aniline and phenol poses a risk to human and environmental health, so it is important to develop reliable techniques for detecting and eliminating trace amounts of amino phenols.

Sensitive electrochemical detection of enrofloxacin in eggs based on carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites: Molecularly imprinted recognition versus direct electrocatalytic oxidation

Suozhu Wu et al.

Summary: A sensitive electrochemical method for detecting enrofloxacin was proposed using carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes-reduced graphene oxide (MWCNT-COOH-RGO) nanocomposites. Enrofloxacin was determined by direct electrocatalytic oxidation and molecularly imprinted recognition, achieving a response range of 5.0x10-7 M to 5.5x10-5 M and a limit of detection of 2.3x10-7 M, and a response range of 1.0x10-10 M to 5.0x10-5 M and a limit of detection of 2.5x10-11 M, respectively. The proposed method exhibited good repeatability, stability, and selectivity, and could be applied for enrofloxacin detection in egg samples.

Recent advances in carbon nanomaterials-based electrochemical sensors for food azo dyes detection

Hassan Karimi-Maleh et al.

Summary: Azo dyes are widely used food colorants for their stability and affordability. However, they can have harmful impacts on living organs, necessitating the control of their content in food. Electro-analytical techniques have been favored for detecting azo dyes due to their sensitivity, selectivity, reproducibility, miniaturization, green nature, low cost, short sample preparation and detection time, and electrode modification capabilities. Carbon-based nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes (CNT) and graphene (Gr), have shown satisfactory results in the fabrication of electrochemical sensing systems for detecting the levels of azo dyes in various specimens.

A novel phenolphthalein-based fluorescent sensor for Al3+ sensing in drinking water and herbal tea samples

Duygu Aydin et al.

Summary: In this study, a turn-on fluorogenic chemosensor HMBP was designed to detect Al3+. The chemosensor showed high sensitivity and binding capacity towards Al3+, with a stoichiometric ratio of 1:2 and a binding constant of 1.21 x 10(8) M-1. The response of the chemosensor to Al3+ was attributed to blocking the PET and C=N isomerisation mechanisms. The sensor was successfully employed for the determination of Al3+ in real food samples, drinking waters, and herbal teas.
