The effect of water depth on passage success of arctic grayling through two Denil fishways

Matt Blank et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of water depths in Denil fishways on upstream passage for Arctic grayling, and found that deeper water depths increase the success rate of upstream passage.

Addition of auxiliary discharge into a fishway-A contribution to fishway design at barrages of large rivers

Cornelia Schuetz et al.

Summary: The study investigated the best practice design of an entrance channel with auxiliary water supply through a lateral screen in an experimental flume. Results showed that there was no significant difference in passage success for different fish species with varying screen sizes, angles, and design velocities. Additional attempts to guide fish through the entrance channel did not improve passage times for certain fish species.
