A comprehensive review of drivers influencing flu vaccine acceptance in the Middle East over the last six years: using Health Belief Model

Zahraa Adel Alalag et al.

Summary: The study found that influenza vaccination rates were generally low in the Middle East, with healthcare workers having relatively higher vaccination rates. Factors such as old age, health comorbidities, or working in high-risk environments were major motivators for vaccination, while concerns about adverse reactions and vaccine efficacy were reported as major barriers. Empowering healthcare workers to advocate for vaccination and addressing concerns about vaccine safety and efficacy are recommended to increase vaccination rates in the region.

Awareness, knowledge and attitude toward influenza vaccination in several population groups in China: A cross-sectional study

Binshan Jiang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the awareness, knowledge, and attitudes towards influenza vaccination among different populations in China and evaluate the factors influencing vaccine acceptance. The results showed gaps between awareness and knowledge, as well as willingness and actual vaccination. Healthcare workers and health administrators were more inclined to accept influenza vaccines. Lower educational level and older age were associated with lower vaccine acceptance. Past vaccination experience and awareness of related programs were positively associated with future vaccination. Insufficient budget resources, workforce, and low public awareness were identified as major difficulties in promoting influenza vaccination.
