A coupled novel framework for assessing vulnerability of water resources using hydrochemical analysis and data-driven models

Abu Reza Md Towfiqul Islam et al.

Summary: This research constructed a new framework technique for assessing vulnerability of water resources by using hydrochemical properties and data-driven models. The study focused on freshwater-scarce coastal plains and found that regions with higher vulnerability were affected by salinity, NO3-, F- and As pollution in groundwater. The Random Forest model outperformed others in identifying vulnerable zones with high accuracy.

Water Purification Effect of Ecological Floating Bed Combination Based on the Numerical Simulation

Lanqing Qiu et al.

Summary: Based on special water experiments and a hydrodynamic water quality model, a water quality improvement scheme using an ecological floating bed was developed to simulate and improve the water quality of the Wuqing urban section of the North Canal Basin in Tianjin. The results showed a significant decrease in ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, and chemical oxygen demand concentrations after the implementation of the ecological floating bed.
