MnWO4 nanorods embedded into amorphous MoSx microsheets in 2D/1D MoSx/MnWO4 S-scheme heterojunction for visible-light photocatalytic water oxidation

Hongru Zhou et al.

Summary: A novel MoSx/MnWO4 hybrid photocatalyst was designed and synthesized for efficient visible light-driven water splitting to generate oxygen. The strong chemical interlayer between amorphous MoSx microsheets and MnWO4 nanorods improved charge transportation efficiency by reducing charge transfer barrier, leading to enhanced photocatalytic activity. The S-scheme heterojunction structure promoted solar light utilization and separation efficiency of photo-generated charge carriers, resulting in improved water oxidation performance.

Regulating interfacial morphology and charge-carrier utilization of Ti3C2 modified all-sulfide CdS/ZnIn2S4 S-scheme heterojunctions for effective photocatalytic H2 evolution

Junxian Bai et al.

Summary: The control of interface morphology and charge-carrier utilization in metal sulfide photocatalysts is crucial for improving the separation efficiency of electrons and holes and increasing the surface reaction active sites. In this study, a Ti3C2/ZIS/CdS composite material was synthesized, which showed improved electron-hole separation efficiency and enhanced charge transfer due to the formation of an all-sulfide S-scheme heterojunction. The addition of Ti3C2 further reduced the recombination of electrons and holes, leading to a high hydrogen production rate.

Confined cobalt oxide embedded into hierarchical bismuth tungstate in S-scheme micro-heterojunction for enhanced air purification

Jun Ke et al.

Summary: In this study, a confined cobalt oxide nanocrystals/bismuth tungstate S-scheme micro-heterojunction was successfully synthesized for improved air purification. The introduction of cobalt oxide nanocrystals enhanced solar harvesting efficiency and facilitated charge movement through staggered band offsets. The S-scheme micro-heterojunction exhibited 2.7 times higher photocatalytic activity than pure bismuth tungstate under visible light. The reaction pathways of gaseous benzene photooxidation were also investigated.

Novel step-scheme red mud based Ag3PO4 heterojunction photocatalyst with enhanced photocatalytic performance and stability in photo-Fenton reaction

Qingyong Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared a new Ag3PO4/RM composite using red mud as a host material for the growth of silver phosphate, exhibiting remarkable photocatalytic activity, stability, and reusability for the degradation of TC-HCl in photo-Fenton reaction. The S-scheme charge transfer in APRM-110 accelerated the separation of photo-generated carriers, effectively restraining photocorrosion.
