Anti-excitotoxicity and neuroprotective action of asiaticoside encapsulated polymeric nanoparticles in pilocarpine rodent seizure model

Renju Kunjumon et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the anti-excitotoxicity and neuroprotective effects of Centella asiatica encapsulated alginate chitosan nanoparticles (ACNPs) containing asiaticoside (ASI) in a mouse model of pilocarpine-induced seizure. The results showed that ACNPs could effectively cross the blood-brain barrier and attenuate the severity of seizures induced by pilocarpine.

Biocompatible madecassoside encapsulated alginate chitosan nanoparticles, their anti-proliferative activity on C6 glioma cells

Renju Kunjumon et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that MAD encapsulated alginate chitosan nanoparticles exhibit cytotoxicity and anti-proliferative activity against C6 glioma cells. They induce cell necrosis and inhibit cell proliferation through increased intracellular reactive oxygen species production. The findings suggest MACNP as a promising drug delivery carrier for glioma management.
