Down-conversion materials for organic solar cells: Progress, challenges, and perspectives

Ram Datt et al.

Summary: Organic solar cells (OSCs) have made remarkable progress in terms of power conversion efficiency (PCE) and operational lifetime by improving active layer materials and introducing new interlayers. Recently, down-conversion (DC) materials have been introduced to effectively convert high-energy photons to low-energy photons and improve the absorption limit of OSCs in the high energy incident spectrum. Additionally, DC materials can protect OSCs from UV-induced degradation.

Near-UV-excited Dy3+-doped calcium borophosphate (CBP) phosphors for white LED applications

V. Reddy Prasad et al.

Summary: CBP phosphors doped with Dy(3+) were synthesized using the solid-state reaction method, and their photoluminescence spectra and decay curves in the visible region were studied. The emission spectra were excited at 350 nm, and lifetimes were measured for different concentrations of Dy(3+) ions. CIE chromaticity coordinates and correlated color temperature were also obtained for these Dy3+-doped CBP phosphors.
