Investigation of the interaction behavior between quercetin and pepsin by spectroscopy and MD simulation methods

Fatemeh Hashemi-Shahraki et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the interaction between quercetin and pepsin in an aqueous environment under physiological conditions. The results showed that quercetin could reduce the emission spectra of pepsin, alter the enzyme's secondary structure, and decrease its catalytic ability. Thermodynamic parameters, molecular dynamics simulations, and molecular docking results revealed that non-covalent reactions played a key role in the interaction between quercetin and pepsin.

Elham Yadollahi et al.

Summary: Caffeic acid, a widely distributed phenolic compound, has been found in plant products. Trypsin, a vital digestive enzyme, plays an essential role in various biological processes. This study investigates the functional and conformational changes of trypsin after addition of caffeic acid using experimental and computational techniques. The results show that caffeic acid affects the fluorescence, secondary structures, kinetic properties, and stability of trypsin. Molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulation provide insights into the binding sites and conformational changes of trypsin.

A comprehensive insight into the effects of caffeic acid (CA) on pepsin: Multi-spectroscopy and MD simulations methods

Fatemeh Hashemi-Shahraki et al.

Summary: The interaction between caffeic acid (CA) and pepsin was studied using multi-spectroscopy approaches and molecular dynamic simulations (MDS). CA was found to quench the fluorescence of pepsin and expose its tryptophan chromophores to a more hydrophilic micro-environment. The binding of CA to pepsin decreased the content of alpha-Helix and Random Coil but increased the content of beta-sheet in pepsin structure, thereby inhibiting pepsin activity.

Complexation of ellagic acid with α-lactalbumin and its antioxidant property

Mengxue Diao et al.

Summary: The study investigated the binding interaction between ellagic acid and alpha-lactalbumin using multi-spectroscopy and chromatographic analysis and found that ellagic acid could change the conformation of alpha-lactalbumin. Computer simulations showed that ellagic acid tended to bind to aromatic cluster II of alpha-lactalbumin. This work suggested that alpha-lactalbumin exhibited binding affinity for ellagic acid and enhanced its antioxidant properties.

Study on the interaction of ethylene glycol with trypsin: Binding ability, activity, and stability

Lida Momeni et al.

Summary: The study investigates the influence of ethylene glycol (EG) on the structure and thermal stability of trypsin. The results show that EG affects the secondary and tertiary structures of trypsin and enhances its thermal stability. The binding between EG and trypsin occurs through a static quenching process, with van der Waals and hydrogen bonds playing important roles in the binding.

Seyedeh-Zohreh Vahedi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Aspirin (NAS) on alpha chymotrypsin (alpha-Chy). The results showed that NAS affected the absorption intensity and emission of alpha-Chy. Thermodynamic calculations indicated that the reaction was spontaneous. Other investigations explored the thermal stability and secondary structure of the enzyme. The findings suggest that NAS can activate and destabilize alpha-Chy by entering the gastrointestinal tract.

Binding parameters and molecular dynamics of Trypsin-Acid Yellow 17 complexation as a function of concentration

Elham Yadollahi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction between Acid Yellow 17 and trypsin, revealing that the presence of this color decreases the absorption and fluorescence intensity of trypsin, as well as reduces the percent of turn, coil, and alpha-helix in trypsin structure. The computational study confirms these findings by showing that the interaction between this color and trypsin leads to less compactness in the trypsin structure.

Song-Bo Kou et al.

Summary: S C Olmutinib is a novel third-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets epidermal growth factor receptor mutations. The binding behavior of OMT with bovine serum albumin was studied, revealing hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonds, and van der Waals forces as key factors in the complexation process. OMT tended to bind to subdomain IB of BSA, causing changes in BSA's conformation and secondary structure as observed through fluorescence, FT-IR, and UV-Vis studies.
