The preparation of Bi3+ quantum dots modified SnS nanosheets gas sensor for detecting TEA

Y. T. Ma et al.

Summary: A one-step solvothermal method was used to synthesize Bi3+ quantum dots decorated flower-like SnS nanosheets (Bi3+-SnS). SEM analysis showed that the 6% Bi3+-SnS samples exhibited optimal self-assembly pearl-flower morphology compared to the 3% and 9% samples. XRD and TEM techniques revealed that the 6% Bi3+-SnS samples had orthorhombic crystal lattices. Furthermore, gas sensing tests demonstrated that the sensor based on 6% Bi3+-SnS showed higher sensing performance towards 50 ppm TEA at an optimal operating temperature of 200 degrees C. This study may contribute to the development of a promising material for detecting TEA at lower temperatures in practical applications.

Shuai Zhang et al.

Summary: MoO3/Ti3C2Tx MXene nanocomposites were successfully prepared by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method, achieving effective monitoring of low-concentration ethanol gas (1.61@1 ppm). The MoO3/Ti3C2Tx MXene nanocomposites have a doubled specific surface area (61.044 m2/g) compared to Ti3C2Tx MXene (33.385 m2/g), providing more reaction centers and active sites for ethanol molecules. The gas-sensing results showed outstanding selectivity, reproducibility, and fast response-recovery (10/49 s). The possible sensing mechanism of the composite was discussed in detail with density functional theory (DFT). This work provides a new sensing design strategy for detecting VOCs at low-temperature.
