QCD factorization of quasi generalized gluon distributions

J. P. Ma et al.

Summary: We studied the factorization relations between quasi gluon GPDs and twist-2 GPDs. Perturbative coefficient functions were obtained at one-loop level, free from any collinear or I.R. divergences. Ghost contributions were added for the factorization of quasi gluon GPDs to obtain gauge-invariant results. Our work showed that the mixing pattern of nonlocal operators in quasi gluon GPDs is the same as that of local operators, involving gauge-invariant operators, BRST-variation operators, and operators with EOM operator. The factorization relations were obtained for all quasi gluon GPDs, and the relations between quasi gluon PDFs and twist-2 PDFs were also derived by taking the forward limit.

QCD factorization of quasi generalized quark distributions

J. P. Ma et al.

Summary: We study the factorization of quasi generalized quark distributions with twist-2 generalized parton distributions using a different approach. We derive the factorization relations of all quasi generalized quark distributions at one-loop, including the contributions from twist-2 generalized gluon distributions. Our results apply to hadrons with different spins, not only to spin-1/2 hadrons.

Generalized quasi-, Ioffe-time-, and pseudodistributions of the pion in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model

Vanamali Shastry et al.

Summary: We analyze the generalized quasi, Ioffe-time, and pseudodistributions of the valence quarks in the pion at the quark model scale. We use the framework of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model and investigate the basic question of how fast the pion has to move to effectively reach the infinite momentum limit, where the approach can provide the information on the generalized parton distribution functions. With developed analytic expressions, we conclude that to effectively approach the infinite momentum limit in the Ioffe-time distributions for values of the Ioffe-time accessible in lattice QCD, one roughly needs the pion momenta of the order of similar to 3 GeV.

Generalized parton distributions from lattice QCD with asymmetric momentum transfer: Unpolarized quarks

Shohini Bhattacharya et al.

Summary: Traditionally, lattice QCD computations of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) have been carried out in a symmetric frame. In this work, a quasidistribution approach is proposed to perform lattice QCD calculations of GPDs in asymmetric frames, which leads to faster and more effective computations. The Lorentz covariant parametrization of matrix elements and a new definition of quasi-GPDs are used to relate matrix elements in different frames and reduce power corrections. Numerical calculations are performed, demonstrating the efficacy of the formalism and obtaining results for the twist-2 light-cone GPDs H and E for unpolarized quarks.

Generalized parton distributions from the off-forward Compton amplitude in lattice QCD

A. Hannaford-Gunn et al.

Summary: In this study, the properties of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are determined from a lattice QCD calculation of the off-forward Compton amplitude (OFCA). By extending the Feynman-Hellmann relation to second-order matrix elements at off-forward kinematics, the OFCA can be calculated from lattice propagators computed in the presence of a background field. Using an operator product expansion, the deeply virtual part of the OFCA is parametrized in terms of the low-order Mellin moments of the GPDs. Numerical investigations are conducted to determine the form factors of the lowest two moments of the nucleon GPDs at zero-skewness kinematics. This study provides novel constraints on the x- and t-dependence of GPDs and demonstrates the viability of calculating the OFCA from first principles.

Martha Constantinou

Summary: This article reviews recent lattice calculations on the x-dependence of parton distributions, showing significant progress in calculating flavor-singlet parton distribution functions, generalized parton distributions, and transverse-momentum-dependent PDFs. These calculations provide valuable insights for phenomenological fits on experimental data sets.

QCD factorization for chiral-odd parton quasi- and pseudo-distributions

Vladimir M. Braun et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated chiral-odd quark-antiquark correlation functions suitable for lattice calculations of twist-three nucleon parton distribution functions and transversity distribution. Factorized expressions were derived in terms of twist-two and twist-three collinear distributions with one-loop accuracy. The twist-two part of the h(L) quasi(pseudo)-distribution can be separated from the twist-three part based on an exact Jaffe-Ji-like relation.

Summary: The study derived a factorization expression for the transverse component of the axial-vector correlation function, accurate to one-loop. The results are presented in both position space as the factorization theorem for Ioffe-time distributions and in momentum space for the axial-vector quasi- and pseudodistributions.

Large-momentum effective theory

Xiangdong Ji et al.

Summary: The large-momentum effective theory (LaMET) offers a new way to extract parton physics from proton properties through Lorentz symmetry. It provides an alternative to the standard formalism of partons by allowing for the extraction of various partonic observables through effective field theory matching and running. Future lattice QCD calculations could further enhance our understanding of hadronic structure and experimental data related to proton parton distribution.

Parton distribution functions beyond leading twist from lattice QCD: The hL (x) case

Shohini Bhattacharya et al.

Summary: In this study, the isovector flavor combination of the chiral-odd twist-3 parton distribution h(L) (x) for the proton was calculated rapidly using lattice QCD techniques. The results were renormalized nonperturbatively and presented in the (MS) over bar scheme at the scale of 2 GeV. Additionally, the transversity distribution h(1) (x) was also computed and compared to its Wandzura-Wilczek approximation.

Summary: In this study, a calculation of the up, down, strange, and charm quark masses was conducted within the lattice QCD framework using twisted-mass fermion action. Scale setting with various quantities was used to check for finite lattice spacing effects, confirming compatible results in the continuum limit. Nonperturbative quark mass renormalization was performed using the RI'-MOM method, with determination of quark masses based on physical observables from the meson and baryon sectors.

Nucleon axial and pseudoscalar form factors from lattice QCD at the physical point

C. Alexandrou et al.

Summary: The nucleon axial and induced pseudoscalar form factors are computed using three ensembles of gauge configurations, one of which includes strange and charm quarks. The latter ensemble with finer lattice spacing and larger statistics is used for final results, while the other two are used to assess volume effects. The momentum dependence of these form factors and their relations based on pion pole dominance and the partially conserved axial-vector current hypothesis are examined.
