Summary: By encapsulating starch in chitosan-sodium phytate capsules, the digestion of starch can be delayed, leading to lower blood glucose levels. The study found that the capsules had lower swelling degree than native starch at different temperatures, and contained higher levels of slowly digestible starch and resistant starch. These findings are significant for patients with chronic diseases.

Summary: Chitosan materials, with their abundance, biocompatibility, and biodegradability, have great potential for use in sustainable and flexible electronics. We demonstrated a feasible roll-forming method to process chitosan films by utilizing the plasticizing effect of ionic liquids. The regenerated chitosan films showed remarkable strength (53.1 MPa), high elongation (3.5%), and hardness (0.4 GPa) after removing the additional ionic liquids. Additionally, the successful fabrication of interdigital electrode sensors on the chitosan film indicated the feasibility of manufacturing flexible electronics using chitosan substrates.

Summary: In this study, bismuth oxybromide/carbon (BiOBr/C) visible light catalysts were prepared by using sodium lignosulfonate as a surfactant and carbon source to enhance the photocatalytic capability of BiOBr. Different amounts of sodium lignosulfonate were added to regulate the morphology of BiOBr/C, resulting in the transformation from flake shape to a hollow microsphere. The as-prepared composites showed high removal efficiencies for tetracycline and hexavalent chromium due to the improved light absorption and easier separation of photogenerated carriers.
