Long-Term Outcome of Drug-Coated Balloon vs Drug-Eluting Stent for Small Coronary Vessels PICCOLETO-II 3-Year Follow-Up

Bernardo Cortese et al.

Summary: This study compared the short- and long-term performance of paclitaxel DCB and everolimus-eluting stent in patients with small coronary vessel disease. The long-term follow-up showed a lower risk of MACEs in patients treated with the new-generation paclitaxel DCB.

The European bifurcation club Left Main Coronary Sent study: a randomized comparison of stepwise provisional vs. systematic dual stenting strategies (EBC MAIN)

David Hildick-Smith et al.

Summary: Among patients with true left main stem bifurcation lesions requiring intervention, fewer major adverse cardiac events occurred with a stepwise layered provisional approach than with planned dual stenting, although the difference was not statistically significant. The stepwise provisional strategy should remain the default for distal left main stem bifurcation intervention. Procedure time, X-ray dose and consumables favored the stepwise provisional approach.

The European bifurcation club Left Main Coronary Stent study: a randomized comparison of stepwise provisional vs. systematic dual stenting strategies (EBC MAIN)

David Hildick-Smith et al.

Summary: A study on patients with true left main stem bifurcation lesions showed that a stepwise provisional approach was associated with fewer major adverse cardiac events compared to planned dual stenting, supporting its use as the default strategy for distal left main stem bifurcation intervention.
