Clustered tubular S-scheme ZnO/CdS heterojunctions for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production

Hongyu Lu et al.

Summary: A cluster-like ZnO/CdS nanotube heterojunction photocatalyst was prepared by a two-step hydrothermal method on an FTO conductive glass substrate. The photocatalytic performance and electron transfer mechanism of ZnO and ZnO/CdS composite structures were analyzed through comparing their hydrogen production efficiency. The ZnO/CdS (molar ratio 1:1) exhibited a remarkable photocatalytic hydrogen production activity, with a quantum efficiency of 55.25% and a production rate of 7669 μmol/g/h.

Intercalation oxidation: A strategy for MoS2 modification to enable photodegradation of pollutants

Jiaqi Zhao et al.

Summary: Modified materials like MoS2 and intercalated oxide materials (MSMO/T) have shown desirable photocatalytic properties for degradation of pollutants. The formation of MoS2-MoO3 structure and the Z-type heterojunction with TiO2 contribute to the superior catalytic performance. This work provides an efficient way to modify transition metal disulfides for advanced photocatalysis and other applications.

Metal ion-intercalated layered hydrogen tri-titanate nanotubes: synthesis, characterization and their use in ultrafast and enhanced removal of hazardous contaminant fluoride from water

Anjana Biswas et al.

Summary: Titanate nanotubes functionalized with metal ions (MTNTs) were successfully prepared by intercalating metal ions into hydrogen titanate nanotubes (HTNTs). The MTNTs exhibited a hollow nanotubular morphology, high porosity, high surface area, and good optical properties. Moreover, the MTNTs showed ultrafast and efficient removal of fluoride ions from water, making them superior fluoride adsorbents compared to the parent material.

Comparison of the photocatalytic performance of S-SnSe/GO and SnSe/S-GO nanocomposites for dye photodegradation

Elham Kharatzadeh et al.

Summary: The comparative study showed that SnSe/S-GO nanocomposites exhibited faster visible-light photocatalytic activity compared to S-SnSe/GO nanocomposites. The lower degree of oxidation on the surface of S-GO sheets led to the longer photogenerated electron lifetime in the SnSe/S-GO nanocomposites.
