Nonlocal statistical mechanics: General fractional Liouville equations and their solutions

Vasily E. Tarasov

Summary: A nonlocal generalization of classical statistical mechanics is proposed using the general fractional calculus in the Luchko form. The paper suggests some basic concepts of nonlocal statistical mechanics in Liouville picture and also proposes nonlocal analogs of the standard law of probability conservation in integral and differential forms. Nonlocality is described by the pairs of Sonin kernels that belong to the Luchko set. Examples of solutions of general fractional Liouville equations for power-law nonlocality in phase space are presented. The introduction gives a brief overview of some approaches to the description of nonlocal statistical mechanics.

General Nonlocal Probability of Arbitrary Order

Vasily E. Tarasov

Summary: Using Luchko's general fractional calculus (GFC) and its extension in the form of the multi-kernel general fractional calculus of arbitrary order (GFC of AO), a nonlocal generalization of probability is proposed. The nonlocal and general fractional (CF) extensions for probability density functions (PDFs), cumulative distribution functions (CDFs), and probability are defined and their properties are described. Examples of general nonlocal probability distributions of AO are considered. The application of multi-kernel GFC allows for a broader class of operator kernels and nonlocality in probability theory.

Multi-Kernel General Fractional Calculus of Arbitrary Order

Vasily E. Tarasov

Summary: An extension of the general fractional calculus (GFC) proposed by Luchko is formulated in this article. This extension is based on a multi-kernel approach using Laplace convolutions of different Sonin kernels. The article also considers the multi-kernel GFC of an arbitrary order in the case of intervals (a, b) where -infinity < a < b <= infinity. Examples of multi-kernel general fractional operators of arbitrary orders are proposed in this study.

General Fractional Calculus in Multi-Dimensional Space: Riesz Form

Vasily E. Tarasov

Summary: This paper proposes an extension of the general fractional calculus (GFC) as a generalization of the Riesz fractional calculus, and applies the Luchko approach to construct the GFC in the Riesz form. The general fractional integrals and derivatives are defined as convolution-type operators using Fourier convolution on m-dimensional Euclidean space. Some properties of these general fractional operators are described, and the fractional calculus of the Riesz potential and the fractional Laplacian of the Riesz form are shown as special cases of the proposed general fractional calculus.

Scale-Invariant General Fractional Calculus: Mellin Convolution Operators

Vasily E. Tarasov

Summary: This article proposes a general fractional calculus (GFC) of operators based on the Mellin convolution instead of the Laplace convolution. This Mellin convolution calculus can be considered as an analogue of the Luchko GFC for the Laplace convolution operators. The proposed general fractional differential operators are generalizations of scaling (dilation) differential operators for nonlocality cases. The properties of semi-group and scale-invariance of these operators are proven. The Hadamard and Hadamard-type fractional operators are special cases of the proposed operators. The fundamental theorems for the scale-invariant general fractional operators are also proven. The proposed GFC can be applied in the study of dynamics characterized by nonlocality and scale invariance.

Quantization of nonlocal fields via fractional calculus

Kazim Gokhan Atman et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of nonlocality in quantum mechanics and proposes a fractional approach to the theory of quantized fields. By incorporating fractional calculus, the theory of quantum fields is expanded to account for nonlocal integral and derivative operators. The concept of quantum entanglement is also discussed to better understand nonlocality within the foundation of quantum mechanics. Furthermore, a fractional Lagrangian formalism is presented as the starting point to establish a field theory. Through the introduction of equal-time commutators defined in terms of Caputo fractional derivatives, a scheme for quantizing fractional fields is introduced. This approach successfully generalizes quantum field theory and is coherent with the standard formalism, offering a promising concept for incorporating nonlocality into the mathematical framework.

Fractional Differential Equations with the General Fractional Derivatives of Arbitrary Order in the Riemann-Liouville Sense

Yuri Luchko

Summary: In this paper, the authors investigate the general fractional derivatives of arbitrary order defined in the Riemann-Liouville sense. They derive the explicit form of their null space and prove the second fundamental theorem of fractional calculus, which leads to a closed form formula for their projector operator. The authors also develop an operational calculus of the Mikusinski type for these derivatives and apply it to obtain explicit solutions to the corresponding fractional differential equations. These results provide important tools for solving these equations.
