(002) oriented ZnO and ZnO:S thin films by direct ultrasonic spray pyrolysis: A comparative analysis of structure, morphology and physical properties

Paulosutty Abraham et al.

Summary: In this study, sulfur incorporated ZnO thin films (ZnO:S) were prepared by ultrasonic deposition. The structure, morphology, optical and electrical properties of the films were analyzed in comparison with pristine ZnO thin films. The electronic band structures of ZnO and (ZnO:S) were also theoretically calculated using the DFT-VASP method. The ZnO and (ZnO:S) thin films exhibited hexagonal crystal structure and showed potential as window layers with improved charge extraction contacts for solar cell applications.

A quantitative approach to predicting lung deposition profiles of pharmaceutical powder aerosols

Shadi Yaqoubi et al.

Summary: Dry powder inhalers are widely used for pulmonary drug delivery, with inhalation performance influenced by formulation features, inhaler device, and inhalation pattern. This review focuses on the importance of powder characteristics, physicochemical factors affecting formulation properties, and the need for developing predictive models to describe influential factors on DPI delivery.
