Two-Dimensional Gap Solitons in Parity-Time Symmetry Moire Optical Lattices with Rydberg-Rydberg Interaction

Bin-Bin Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes a scheme to generate stable two-dimensional solitons in a cold Rydberg atomic system with a parity-time (PT) symmetric moire optical lattice. The formation, properties, and dynamics of different types of solitons are investigated. The stability of these solitons is evaluated through linear-stability analysis and time evolutions with perturbations. This research provides insight into the physics of solitons in combined versatile platforms of PT-symmetric systems and Rydberg-Rydberg interaction in cold gases.

Weak-light solitons and their active control in Rydberg-dressed parity-time symmetry moire optical lattices

Mao-Wei Chen et al.

Summary: We propose a physical setup to realize parity-time (PT) symmetric moire ' optical lattices and nonlocal optical solitons in a cold Rydberg atomic system with electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). By using a numerical simulation method, we uncover the formation, properties, and dynamics of higher-order solitons and vortical ones. This study opens a route for developing non-Hermitian nonlinear optics and controlling high-dimensional weak-light optical solitons.

Two-dimensional spatial optical solitons in Rydberg cold atomic system under the action of optical lattice

Qiu-Yu Liao et al.

Summary: By introducing a Bessel optical lattice in a cold Rydberg atomic system, we have successfully achieved the generation of stable two-dimensional solitons in high-dimensional space and solved the problem of light field diffusion. Balancing the local nonlinearity, Bessel potential, and nonlocal nonlinearity caused by the Rydberg-Rydberg interaction, we have obtained a cluster of 2D spatial solitons, including fundamental, two-pole, quadrupole, and vortex solitons.

Vector Spatiotemporal Solitons and Their Memory Features in Cold Rydberg Gases

Yuan Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, we propose a scheme to generate stable vector spatiotemporal solitons through a Rydberg-EIT system. Three-dimensional vector monopole and vortex solitons have been discovered under three nonlocal degrees. Both numerical calculations and analytical solutions demonstrate that these solitons have low energy and can stably propagate along the axes. The behavior of vector spatiotemporal solitons can be manipulated by both local and nonlocal nonlinearities, and they exhibit a memory feature as they can be effectively stored and retrieved by tuning the control field.

Electromagnetically induced moire optical lattices in a coherent atomic gas

Zhiming Chen et al.

Summary: Electromagnetically induced moire optical lattices, generated in a three-level coherent atomic gas using electromagnetically induced transparency, have attracted significant interest recently. By changing the twisted angle and relative strength between two constitutive sublattices, extremely flattened moire Bloch bands can always appear, resembling the typical flat-band and moire physics found in other contexts. The dynamics of light propagation in the induced periodic structures demonstrate unique linear localization and delocalization properties. The predicted moire optical lattices and flattened bands can be observed in a Rubidium atomic medium.

Stable High-Dimensional Weak-Light Soliton Molecules and Their Active Control

Lu Qin et al.

Summary: This article proposes a scheme for creating stable optical soliton molecules in a gas of cold Rydberg atoms by inducing electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). The system exhibits giant nonlocal Kerr nonlinearity, enabling the generation of stable (2+1)D spatial optical soliton molecules and (3+1)D spatiotemporal soliton molecules. These soliton molecules can be stored and retrieved, and have potential applications in data processing and transmission in optical systems.

Rotating Multidimensional Quantum Droplets

Liangwei Dong et al.

Summary: We predict a new type of stable quantum droplets that rotate persistently in broad external potentials, resembling whispering-gallery modes localized in the polar direction. These rotating quantum droplets exhibit a rich variety of shapes, from flat-top to crescentlike objects, and remain stable practically in the entire range of their existence.
