Continuously and widely tunable frequency-stabilized laser based on an optical frequency comb

Ze-Min Shen et al.

Summary: A frequency-stabilized and precisely tunable laser system based on an optical frequency comb is demonstrated. The scheme allows for wide tuning of the laser frequency by locking it to the comb and utilizing mode hopping and feedback loops. The system achieves fast tuning speeds and can find applications in atomic, molecular, and optical physics experiments.

An optical elevator for precise delivery of cold atoms using an acousto-optical deflector

Francesco Ferri et al.

Summary: We have developed a simple method to transport ultracold atoms to a microscopic device, such as a Fabry-Perot microcavity, with high efficiency and accuracy. By moving an optical dipole trap and adding a guiding beam, we achieve precise positioning of the atomic cloud within the microcavity, allowing for further manipulation.

Observing Dynamical Currents in a Non-Hermitian Momentum Lattice

Rodrigo Rosa-Medina et al.

Summary: We report the experimental realization and detection of dynamical currents in a spin-textured lattice in momentum space. The collective tunneling is achieved through cavity-assisted Raman scattering of photons by a spinor Bose-Einstein condensate into an optical cavity. The results showcase the dynamical tunneling in momentum-space lattices and provide prospects for realizing dynamical gauge fields in driven-dissipative settings.

Feedback and compensation scheme to suppress the thermal effects from a dipole trap beam for the optical fiber microcavity

Yuhao Pan et al.

Summary: In this paper, a feedback and compensation scheme is developed to address the thermal effects of a high-power optical dipole trap (ODT) beam in a microcavity. The scheme allows for the simultaneous resonance of the optical fiber microcavity with locking and probe lasers, which is of great significance for cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) experimental research.

Nilakantha Meher et al.

Summary: Information processing and computation are undergoing a paradigm shift, and coupled cavity arrays are a well-studied system that can be used for distributed information processing and communication. The key feature of cavities is their ability to retain photons for longer durations, making them suitable for large-scale quantum communications and computations. This article reviews theoretical proposals and experimental realizations of quantum information tasks in cavities.

Fabrication, testing, and assembly of high-finesse optical fiber microcavity for molecule cavity QED experiment

Yuhao Pan et al.

Summary: The ultracold molecule is a promising candidate for versatile quantum tasks due to its long-range interaction and rich internal rovibrational states. By utilizing cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) effects, an optical cavity can enhance the formation efficiency of photoassociated molecules and enable non-demolition detection of the internal states of molecules. We demonstrate the production of a high-finesse optical fiber microcavity for the Rb2 molecule cavity QED experiment, which facilitates the study of molecule cavity QED research.

Collective Spin-Light and Light-Mediated Spin-Spin Interactions in an Optical Cavity

Zeyang Li et al.

Summary: In a high-finesse optical cavity, the interaction between an atomic ensemble and a light mode easily reaches the strong-coupling regime, where quantum effects dominate. This interaction can generate both atom-light and atom-atom entanglement, and conditions are determined to maximize the entanglement-induced gain in quantum sensors and atomic clocks.

Severin Daiss et al.

Summary: The big challenge in quantum computing is to achieve scalable multi-qubit systems with cross-talk-free addressability and efficient coupling of arbitrarily selected qubits. Integrating smaller qubit modules to a larger computing cluster through quantum networks promises a solution. Researchers have successfully demonstrated a quantum-logic gate over a distance of 60 meters, allowing for remote entanglement creation and potential extension to multiple qubits and modules.

Summary: The study overcame the challenge of poor optical coherence of NV centers, successfully enabling resonant addressing and collection of coherent photon emissions from individual NV centers. By utilizing resonant and off-resonant addressing protocols, enhancements of up to 4 times were achieved, surpassing current technology. This marks an important step towards establishing long-coherence quantum networks.

Emerging Dissipative Phases in a Superradiant Quantum Gas with Tunable Decay

Francesco Ferri et al.

Summary: By manipulating the drives and losses of a quantum gas, this study demonstrates the competition between coherent dynamics and dissipation, showcasing the transition between a superradiant phase and a normal phase, as well as the emergence of multistability. The findings provide insights into squeezing in non-Hermitian systems, quantum jumps in superradiance, and dynamical spin-orbit coupling in a dissipative setting.
