Summary: A hydrothermal method was used to synthesize Ni-doped CdS (Ni-CdS) flowers-like nanostructures with high-surface area using different Ni concentrations. The structural, morphological, and optical characteristics were determined by various techniques. The results showed that increasing Ni doping concentration resulted in a decrease in the energy gap and the formation of flower-like nanostructures. The photocatalytic performance of the Ni-CdS films for organic dye degradation was evaluated under xenon light at room temperature.

Summary: In this study, p-PbS/n-Si photodiodes were successfully fabricated using the jet nebulizer spray pyrolysis technique. The effect of substrate temperature on the properties of PbS thin films was investigated. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) confirmed the crystal structure of the films, while Field Emission Transmission Microscopy (FESEM) revealed changes in morphology with increasing temperature. The UV-Vis absorption spectrum showed an increase in bandgap with deposition temperature. The fabricated p-PbS/n-Si diode exhibited excellent rectification and photovoltaic properties.

Summary: By using jet nebulizer spray pyrolysis (JNSP), we have successfully created a highly sensitive P-N junction diode using nanostructured Ag-PbS films as the junction layer. The Ag-PbS films exhibited single-crystalline hexagonal phases and distinctive surface morphology with square-shaped grain structures at 3 wt% Ag content. The optical band-gap energy of the films increased with Ag concentration. We reported the photodiode features of nanostructure p-Si/n-Ag:PbS diodes, which showed positive photoresponse current under illumination. The diode with 3 wt% Ag content achieved high responsivity, minimum ideality factor, and maximum barrier, making it suitable for photo-detector applications.

Summary: A solid state in situ thermolysis technique was used to produce PbS/polyethylene oxide (PEO)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) nanocomposite films with varying concentrations of Pb2+-Tu complex. X-ray diffractogram investigation confirmed the presence of PbS in the PEO/PVP blend network. Transmission electron microscopy analysis revealed the size and shape of the PbS nanoparticles in the PEO/PVP matrix. UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy showed that the bandgap energies of the PbS/PVP/PEO nanocomposite films decreased with increasing stoichiometric concentration of Pb2+-TU complex. FTIR spectroscopy was used to study the hydrogen bonding between PEO and PVP and the interaction of PbS with PEO/PVP. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was utilized to investigate the effect of Pb2+-TU complex concentration on the electrical characteristics of PEO/PVP.

Summary: In this study, the kinetics of silicon electrodeposition and the initial stages of the process were investigated using various electrochemical methods. The reduction of silicon at the cathode was found to occur in one irreversible stage. The diffusion coefficient of silicon ions was determined to be 8.44 x 10(-11) and 1.00 x 10(-10) m(2) s(-1) using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry, respectively. The electrodeposition of silicon on glassy carbon was found to proceed progressively with the continuous formation of new nuclei. The obtained silicon films had a thickness of several microns and consisted of spherical nuclei up to 0.7 microns in diameter. The impurity content in the deposits was extremely low, with oxygen being the main contaminant (0.4-1.2 wt%).

Summary: High-efficiency silicon-based tandem solar cells have the potential to drive the production of terawatt-scale PV and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. This study analyzes the material consumption and sustainability issues of future tandem solar cells. It shows that perovskites are the most sustainable option for the top cell, while the PERC cell architecture with Al as the rear p-type contact can significantly reduce silver consumption compared to TOPCon and SHJ. Rapid upscaling is needed to support the transition towards terawatt-scale manufacturing. This research emphasizes the importance of considering sustainability when designing high-efficiency tandem cells to mitigate the dangers of climate change.

Summary: With the exponential increase in global installations, the number of end-of-life solar PV panels is also surging. However, current recycling technology studies are mainly in the experimental stage and often overlook the issues of high cost, low recycling value, and secondary pollution. This review provides a systematic summary of the recycling technologies and condition parameters for end-of-life PV modules, discusses the strengths and weaknesses of current technologies, and explores future research directions. It aims to serve as a technical reference for the upcoming recycling surge of end-of-life PV modules worldwide.

Summary: PbS thin films were chemically deposited on glass substrates using alkaline aqueous solutions containing glycine-Pb complexes, forming highly compact and adherent films with pyramid-like particles. The specular nature and compactness of the films were enhanced with the increase of the bath pH, confirmed through the analysis of optical and electrical properties. The optical band gap energy and conductivity of the photosensitive PbS films were found in a specific range, leading to investigation of photovoltaic characteristics in CdS/PbS heterojunction devices.

Summary: The study demonstrated the possibility of forming thin-film two-phase compositions CdxPb1-xS/Cd1-delta S using chemical bath deposition with the addition of various cadmium salts. The results showed that the composition of the films deposited with different cadmium salts could vary due to the effect of the salts' anionic component on the kinetics of thiourea decomposition. This finding may have significant implications for the development of solar cells.
