Biomechanics and Neuromuscular Control Training in Table Tennis Training Based on Big Data

Qingling Qu et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the biomechanics and kinematics indicators in table tennis training through big data, and studies the impact of neuromuscular control training on table tennis training. The experimental results show that after nonathletes undergo neuromuscular control training, the standard rate of table tennis hitting action improves significantly.

Developing a tool to assess technical skills in talented youth table tennis players-a multi-method approach combining professional and scientific literature and coaches' perspectives

Irene R. Faber et al.

Summary: This study identified essential elements of technical skills in young table tennis players, including general and specific elements, with criteria for both flawed and excellent executions. A new observation sheet, the Oldenburg observation sheet for Table Tennis Technique (O3T), was created for assessing technical skills in competitive contexts early in a player's career, with future research focusing on its measurement properties and value for talent assessment.

Somatic Characteristics and Special Motor Fitness of Young Top-Level Polish Table Tennis Players

Beata Pluta et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of selected anthropometric measurements on the special physical fitness of elite junior table tennis players at different stages of training. It was found that boys had higher scores than girls for most variables, with mesomorphic and ectomorphic profiles being registered for boys and girls respectively. Measurements like body height, skinfold thickness, arm span, and circumference were related to athletes' performance, with competitors at the specialist training stage achieving higher results.

Exploring offensive players' collective movements and positioning dynamics in high-performance padel matches using tracking technology

B. J. Sanchez-Alcaraz Martinez et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the relationship between offensive players' movements and the position of the ball in defensive zones during padel matches, finding significant correlations between them. Results suggest that offensive players adjust their width and depth positioning based on the ball's position, which could be crucial for tactic and task design for padel players and coaches, as well as applicable to other ball-over-net sports.

Biomechanical comparison of backhand topspin against backspin between different level table tennis athletes using QUALSYS infrared acquisition

Hailian Guo

Summary: This study conducted a biomechanical analysis of backhand topspin against backspin, finding that professionally trained athletes were able to achieve greater joint angles and provide greater torques. The research aims to provide data reference for improving backhand stroke technique, emphasizing the need for athletes to focus on training the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints to achieve greater variations of angles and torques. The novelty of the study lies in collecting body movements of backhand strokes with the QUALISYS infrared acquisition system in a more concise and fast way.
