In vitro exposed magnesium oxide nanoparticles enhanced the growth of legume Macrotyloma uniflorum

Priya Sharma et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the positive effects of magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles on the growth and development of horse gram, including increased shoot-root length, fresh biomass, chlorophyll content, accumulation of carbohydrates and proteins, antioxidant potential, as well as enzyme activity. These findings suggest the potential role of MgO nanoparticles as a nano-fertilizer for enhancing plant growth, but further research on different plant species is necessary before large-scale application in the industry.

Copper Nanoparticle Application Enhances Plant Growth and Grain Yield in Maize Under Drought Stress Conditions

Dong Van Nguyen et al.

Summary: Copper nanoparticle priming enhances drought tolerance in maize by increasing leaf water content and plant biomass, as well as anthocyanin, chlorophyll, and carotenoid contents, while decreasing reactive oxygen species accumulation and increasing reactive oxygen species scavenging enzyme activities. Additionally, applying copper nanoparticles increases total seed number and grain yield under drought stress conditions, suggesting a promising approach for the production of drought-tolerant crop plants.

The effect of irrigation water salinity on the morph-physiological and biochemical properties of spinach under deficit irrigation conditions

Duran Yavuz et al.

Summary: This study investigated the responses of spinach to different water salinities and water stress levels, and found that spinach has good adaptability to high salinities and water deficits. Water salinity and water stress significantly affected the physiological and yield parameters of spinach. Therefore, it is necessary to manage irrigation water salinity and quantity in agricultural production.

Silver nanoparticles improved the plant growth and reduced the sodium and chlorine accumulation in pearl millet: a life cycle study

Imran Khan et al.

Summary: Salt stress in agricultural soils is a global issue, and the efficacy of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in plants under salt stress is still not well understood. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of AgNPs in improving plant growth and reducing salt-induced damages in pearl millet. Exposure to AgNPs significantly influenced the morphology, physiology, and yield-related attributes of pearl millet plants exposed to different salinity doses. AgNPs helped reduce oxidative stress, maintain ionic balance, and enhance antioxidant enzyme activities in plants under salt stress, ultimately leading to improved growth, yield, and photosynthesis.

Effect of graphene / metal nanocomposites on the key genes involved in rosmarinic acid biosynthesis pathway and its accumulation in Melissa officinalis

Roya Karimi Soraki et al.

Summary: It can be concluded that the nanocomposite at low concentration is more likely to induce molecular and biochemical parameters. Additionally, in the rosmarinic acid biosynthesis pathway, the pathway derived from Tyrosine aminotransferase is more efficient than the pathway derived from phenylalanine-ammonia lyase by causing a nano-elicitor. Therefore, the studied elicitor at low concentration can create plants with higher production capacity.
