Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of a Novel Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) for Selective Quantification of Curcumin in Real Food Sample by UV-Vis Spectrophotometry

Sergio Espinoza-Torres et al.

Summary: This study aimed to synthesize a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for the selective detection of curcumin in real samples. The MIP showed higher surface area and better adsorption capacity compared to the non-imprinted polymer (NIP). The MIP exhibited good selectivity for curcumin and had a recovery rate of over 70% in real samples.

Preparation of magnetic nanoparticle-cholesterol imprinted polymer using semi-covalent imprinting approach for ultra-effective and highly selective cholesterol adsorption

Luciane Effting et al.

Summary: In this study, a magnetic nanoparticle-cholesterol imprinted polymer was synthesized using a semi-covalent imprinting approach for cholesterol adsorption. The Fe3O4/SiO2/MIP material showed high selectivity, fast kinetic, and high adsorption capacity towards cholesterol. This material has great potential for future applications in magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction for analytical purposes, thanks to its excellent performance in terms of selectivity, maximum adsorption capacity, and fast kinetic.

A Novel Synthesis of a Magnetic Porous Imprinted Polymer by Polyol Method Coupled with Electrochemical Biomimetic Sensor for the Detection of Folate in Food Samples

Sabir Khan et al.

Summary: This study developed a novel voltammetric sensor for the quantitation of folate in foodstuffs. The sensor, made from magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs), showed high sensitivity and selectivity. The sensor successfully detected folate in different food samples with high recovery percentages. The results demonstrated the efficiency and reliability of the biomimetic sensor for folate determination in real food samples.

Tetracyclines in the environment: An overview on the occurrence, fate, toxicity, detection, removal methods, and sludge management

Jaimy Scaria et al.

Summary: Tetracyclines, a group of broad-spectrum antibiotics, have extensive applications but also pose environmental contamination issues due to their persistent residues and resistance development in microorganisms. Conventional treatment systems are inadequate in removing TCs, requiring a combination of different removal methods for effective mitigation.
