Single Zn atoms anchored on hollow carbon nanofiber network for dendrite-free lithium metal anode of flexible Li-S full cell

Zhi-Feng Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers network containing Zn single atoms was synthesized to address the slow reaction kinetics and lithium dendrite formation in Li-S batteries. The results show that this structure provides stable deposition and stripping of lithium, as well as good flexibility, reversible capacity and cycling stability for the full cell.

Lithiophilic N-doped carbon bowls induced Li deposition in layered graphene film for advanced lithium metal batteries

Xiaoyu Feng et al.

Summary: Our research demonstrates a highly stable and dendrite-free Li metal anode achieved by using N-doped hard carbon/reduced graphene nano sheets as a 3D conductive and lithiophilic scaffold host. The lithiophilic carbon bowl acts as an excellent guide during Li plating, while the high conductivity and mechanical stability of the rGO layer maintain the integrity of the composite, resulting in low lithium metal nucleation overpotential and high Coulombic efficiency.
