The differences of climate change perception, responsibility and climate-friendly behavior among generations and the main determinants of youth?s climate-friendly actions in the EU

Agne Skeiryte et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the difference in climate change perception, responsibility, and climate-friendly behavior among different generations in the EU. The results show that younger generations have a higher awareness of climate change and place more responsibility on business/industrial sectors and environmental groups. However, they perform better in taking personal responsibility, using environmentally friendly alternatives, and considering carbon footprint, but less in waste separation and reducing the use of disposable items.

Critical climate education: studying climate justice in time and space

Hanne Svarstad

Summary: A critical climate education is important in providing citizens with the knowledge and skills to critically examine emission reduction options and discuss their impact on climate justice. It also sheds light on why certain climate mitigation alternatives have been chosen over others that could offer more climate justice in time and space. The necessity of critical climate education is highlighted through a case study of climate mitigation choices made in Norway without considering climate justice.

Is research-based learning effective? Evidence from a pre-post analysis in the social sciences

Insa Wessels et al.

Summary: In research-based learning courses in the social sciences, students showed an increase in cognitive research dispositions but a decrease in affective-motivational research dispositions. The instructors' interest in students' work was a significant predictor of changes in research interest and joy. Practical implications for designing RBL environments can be drawn from the study results.
