Monoacylglycerol lipase from marine Geobacillus sp. showing lysophospholipase activity and its application in efficient soybean oil degumming

Summary: In this study, a GMGL enzyme derived from marine Geobacillus sp. was found to have activity towards monoacylglycerol (MAG) as well as other phospholipids such as LPC, LPE, and GPC. The combination of phospholipase A1 (Lecitase Ultra) and lipase GMGL effectively decreased the phosphorus content in crude soybean oil and achieved a high oil yield. Additionally, the use of UPLC-Q-TOF-MS successfully identified differential phospholipids. These findings are important for understanding the catalytic mechanism of the GMGL enzyme and providing an effective strategy for enzymatic degumming.

Advances in soot particles from gasoline direct injection engines: A focus on physical and chemical characterisation

Summary: With the increasing market share of gasoline direct injection (GDI) vehicles, the high particulate emissions from GDI engines have become a growing concern due to their negative impacts on human health and the environment. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the physical and chemical characteristics of GDI nanoparticles, including soot oxidation reactivity, morphology, nanostructure, surface chemistry, and chemical components. The review also discusses the differences between GDI and diesel nanoparticles and analyzes the effects of engine operating parameters and aftertreatments on GDI soot features. The conclusions and future research recommendations are also presented.

Morphological and nanostructure characteristics of soot particles emitted from a jet-stirred reactor burning aviation fuel

It was found that combustion pressure, fuel flow rate, and inlet air temperature significantly affected the morphology and size of the soot particles. Experimental investigation into the pore structure and oxidation activity of biodiesel soot

Effects of P-based additives on agricultural biomass torrefaction and particulate matter emissions from fuel combustion

Summary: This study investigates the effects of NH4H2PO4 additive on the properties of biomass fuel and particulate matter emissions during combustion. The results show that NH4H2PO4 addition can enhance the removal of O and retention of C, reduce the absolute content of Cl and S in the torrefied fuel, and significantly change the occurrence of alkali and alkaline earth metals.
